Thank You
Volunteers!
Thank you so very much for helping us at Funktafest 7! We are so very excited to put on what we think will be the best one yet and the weather is hopefully shaping up to be a pretty one this Saturday, September 16th (knock on wood). Please read this advance carefully as it will contain all of the information needed for you on arrival times and procedures, shift information and duties, and how to earn your Volunteer VIP wristband.

Rewards Received with Your Volunteer VIP Wristband:
- Preferred food & beverages at the Volunteer VIP hospitality area
- A free Funktafest volunteer T-shirt
- Admission to the Funktafest 7 After Party following Funktafest 7 at The Loud from 10 pm – 3 am
Below are the shift positions and times for all volunteers at Funktafest currently, 9/13. Please do not email asking to switch shifts unless it is an absolute dire necessity.
Parking & Arrival Procedures
Parking for all volunteers is along the periphery of the Ritter Park Amphitheater and Ritter Park. Please do not come to park at the front gate, that’s where sponsors and VIP pass holders will be parking. The closest location for volunteers to park would be on Caldwell Road, which can be entered behind the Ritter Park Rose Garden on McCoy Road. You may park anywhere along that road except nearest to the upper parking lot, that’s where vendors will be parking.
After parking, please report to the Volunteer Check-In Booth near the front gate to get checked in. Starting at 7 am, the first volunteer shifts will begin with volunteers reporting to the Volunteer Check-In booth. There are 5 shifts for volunteers to report.

Breakdown Crew Volunteer Shift
Please report to the front gate of the Ritter Park Amphitheater at least 15-30 minutes before your expected time shift so we can review your role and responsibilities, and give you your volunteer t-shirt to wear during your shift. You will discuss who to report to and begin and finish your shift, ultimately, earning your Volunteer VIP Pass.
Volunteers, upon arrival at the volunteer check-in booth, will tell the booth worker your name and the shift you’re working. The worker will look up your name on an alphabetized master list of all volunteers and confirm your presence by highlighting your name on the list. Beside each volunteer’s name will also be your t-shirt size, shift job name, and shift time. Once highlighted, the worker will place a (RED) Volunteer Funktafest wristband on the volunteer’s wrist and give you your assigned t-shirt size.
Reporting to Your Shift
Volunteers must put on their Funktafest volunteer shirt (not draped over their shoulder or tied around waist) and meet either the front gate coordinator who will then direct the volunteer in the direction of where their job takes place and give an overview of your expected roles and responsibilities. If the volunteer’s job is at the top of the amphitheater, either the front gate coordinator or the inside gate coordinator will direct them to their location. If the volunteer’s job is closer to the back of the amphitheater, the volunteer will be instructed to meet the back gate coordinator, who will direct them to their location. It is then that the volunteer will report to their assigned station and begin their shift.
Completing Your Shift & Earning Your “Volunteer VIP” Wristband
You will not receive your “Volunteer VIP” (SILVER) pass until you have completed your 4-hour shift and have reported back to the gate coordinator you reported to at the beginning of your shift. If satisfactory, the volunteer will be told to report back to the Volunteer Check-In booth near the front gate to exchange their RED wristband for a SILVER “Volunteer VIP” wristband. The worker will ask the volunteer to present ID before placing the wristband on their wrist to determine: that age is over 21 years and that their name is correct on the Volunteer List. If they are under 21, the worker places a RED, Under 21 Volunteer VIP bracelet on the volunteer. These wristbands give the volunteer access to the Funktafest 7 After Party (18+) at THE LOUD. The worker then highlights their name one last time in a different color to signify they have finished their shift. At that point, YOU MAY NOW RELAX AND ENJOY FUNKTAFEST 7!
VIP Volunteer Hospitality Access
Volunteers are welcome to come before their shift to enjoy the day and receive free admission using your (RED) temporary VIP wristband, but please keep in mind two things. First, you are not permitted to drink alcohol before or during your shift. The RED wristband alerts the Beer Tent workers to not sell you alcohol during your shift. Once you’ve completed your shift and have received your VIP Volunteer wristband (SILVER), you are welcome to enjoy alcoholic beverages if you are of legal age. Lastly, it is your responsibility to report to the front or back gate coordinator at your assigned shift time. Please be mindful and prompt to your assigned duty.
Lastly, if you wish to enjoy a “taste” (pun intended) of VIP Volunteer rewards at the Volunteer Hospitality area before your shift, you may do so but please try to do that well before you begin your shift. Your Funktafest 7 volunteer (neon blue) t-shirt grants you admission to this area. Also, please do not take any food or drink out of the Volunteer Hospitality area, please enjoy those treats inside the area only. There will be plenty of seating available, so feel free to relax and enjoy your rewards there!
And Finally…
No volunteers are allowed Backstage area unless you are a hospitality area worker or back gate volunteer working during your scheduled shift time.
No Funktafest 7 volunteers are allowed to exit or enter the back gate. The back gate is only reserved for artist entry/re-entry, coordinators, or stage crew to use (those who have laminates).
We appreciate each and every one of you who has decided to give your free time to volunteer at Funktafest 7! We hope you have the time of your lives and come back next year to help us volunteer again!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me ASAP.
