Dr. Zelidth Rivas
Dr. Rivas is a professor of Japanese and the Assistant Provost for Global Education at Marshall University. She began to study tea in 1994 as a Rotary International Youth Exchange Student (District 2770) as a club activity at Shukutoku Yono High School in Saitama.
As an undergraduate student at Wellesley College, she studied tea with Aiko Somi Rodgers at the Harvard Tea Club and as an exchange student at International Christian University as part of the Sado Club. While completing her M.A. and Ph.D., she studied tea at the Urasenke Foundation in San Francisco under Christy Bartlett. While doing research in Brazil, she studied at Urasenke Brazil in São Paulo under Keita Sokei Hayashi. She holds her Urasenke Hikitsugi tea license through the Urasenke San Francisco Tankokai and teaches students at Marshall University’s Sado (Tea) Club.
Neal Warner
Neal has been a Huntington resident his entire adult life. He is a history teacher and father of three. Also, he likes dogs way more than people. Neal is the Tai Chi instructor at Studio 8, teaching the Yang style on Wednesday evenings at 6 PM.

Teacher Bio
I am a newly minted yoga teacher from Huntington, WV. I teach evening Slow Flow and Restorative Yoga as well as Saturday Morning Beginner and Beyond at Studio 8, where I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. I like to hike and travel with my partner and two dogs and have found a lot of joy in trying new yoga classes and studios wherever I go!
Gina Hart-Smith
Gina Hart-Smith is a Huntington WV native, Yoga Teacher, Ayurvedic health counselor, kombucha entrepreneur, minister, dancer, mother, wife, and believer in the medicines of nature, movement, meditation, and music. Gina found Yoga at the age of 7 on PBS and has committed to a lifelong playful, joyful, beginner’s approach to her practice and teaching. Gina offers accessible practices for all persons and a trauma-informed teaching style rooted in years of professional social work.

Cassandra Huffman
Cassie is a 200-hour trained yoga teacher who is also a licensed mental health counselor here in Huntington WV. She has facilitated group classes at local studios and most since 2017. Most recently, she has been teaching private classes at her office Yoga space. Cassie enjoys diving deep and getting weird in just about whatever she is involved in. An avid fan of live music and dancing, sound and music are integral to creating ease and joy in life.
“Yoga helps me combat chronic anxiety and remember who I am.” Cassie will introduce fun in her Funk Yoga class, exploring shapes, letting go of expectations, and grooving.
Nicole Webb
Nicole is a psychotherapist, certified yoga teacher, and yoga dance teacher, who specializes in a holistic, mind-body approach at her private practice, LiveWell Counseling, located in downtown Huntington. She describes dancing in her classes as “a way to express your most powerful, joyous, and authentic self”.
At Funktafest…you can join Nichole for a mindful dance journey through 7 chakras, from root to crown, using music and simple movements as your guide and then concluding with dance prayer and meditation. No dance ability or talent is needed.

For the third year running, we’re back with our secret stash of extended jams, courtesy of Funktafest’s top-notch DJs. This year, we’re cranking it up a notch with 40 wireless headsets, giving you the chance to dive deep into the mesmerizing mixes from the very same DJs who rocked the stage earlier in the day.
And here’s the cherry on top – it’s one of our Free “Funktivities” for all you amazing ticket holders! Step into the silent groove zone and take your pick from two to three different Funktafest DJs, all at your fingertips. Just dial in your desired DJ’s color on your headset, and let the funky rhythm guide your moves. Get your crew together, because this is where the funk never stops and the good times keep rolling!

To get to the silent disco area at Funktafest 7, follow these directions:
- Make sure you’ve entered the Ritter amphitheater.
- Look for the entrance near the bathrooms; it’s beside the beer/beverage tent. You’ll see a banner that says “Funktafest 7 Silent Disco Area.”
- The entrance is just behind the huge concrete wall where vendors set up, atop the amphitheater.
